Winter and Christmas Announcements

There are lots of activities taking place across the region this winter-time.

  1. Christmas Day lunch for socially isolated : on Christmas Day. My fab colleague Emma McInnes has arranged for a Christmas day lunch for people aged over 60 who will be alone at Christmas (see criteria). Lunch will be held locally but people wanting to attend must pre-register first so they know numbers – all details on attached flyer. Transport can be arranged if necessary too. Maximum 60 so book soon. Criteria for attending is : Age 60+ (some under 60s will be accepted depending in circumstances); Living alone and not spending any time with family or friends on Christmas Day; or Couples where the carer is struggling to cook on Christmas day due to caring responsibilities/complexities. emma_mcinnes@middlesbrough.gov.uk
  2. Pharmacy Needs Assessment: A survey is underway to check how the pharmacies across South Tees can better meet the needs of our communities – details in email attached. People can complete the survey online through the link given or they can be submitted on paper if easier.   3. Christmas HAF Activities: The booking site for the Christmas delivery of the Holiday Activities & Food Programme is now live – Bring It On! There are thousands of places for children from families in receipt of benefit related free school meals to book onto (see attached poster). bringiton-book.com
  4. HEAT Fuel Offer for residents: offer for residents needing help with fuel payments. heat-thewisegroup.co.uk
  5. Hope Foundation - Centre for Warmth advice: Hope Foundation are running to give free energy advice and encourage sign up to the priority service register. warmth@hope-foundation.org.uk

  7. Community Resilience Grants : Cleveland Local Resilience Forum, has allocated a funding pot of £20,000 to help communities in the area increase their resilience and preparedness, ensuring they are prepared should a major incident occur. Grants of up to £2k available – but deadline for applications is 20th December so please submit soon if you are interested.
