CSC Review

Civil Society Consulting is a TM&C partner. CSC worked with us during the pandemic and this is their report on the work they undertook during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ethnic minority communities were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. The same was true for the organisations that support them. At the beginning of the pandemic, 87% of small ethnic minority-led community organisations were at risk of permanent closure within three months. This compares to 10% of the charity sector as a whole.

To contribute to tackling this inequity, CSC developed a simple initiative to provide (primarily) minority organisations with one-to-one consultations and follow-up support that builds confidence and capacity. Their flagship programmes have been ‘Steps to Sustainability’, which later graduated into ‘Steps to Recovery’.
